Industrial Furnace
Industrial Furnace
For various industrial applications heat is necessary and this is cater by different industrial furnaces. Industrial furnace contains number of burners which can be mounted in floor, wall or roof, depending upon the purpose. The flames heat the tube and the fluid surrounded by the first component of the furnace, which is identified as the radiant segment. The burning process takes place in a chamber which is known as firebox. Through radiation the heat is transferred to the tubes around the flames in the cavity. The heating liquid heated in the direction of the preferred temperature. The industrial heating furnace is made up of different heating equipments.

Industrial furnaces are used for various heat treatments of materials. Heat treating helps in the value addition to metal products, especially steel and nonferrous products, by imparting specific properties to the parts.
Buying Tips
While purchasing industrial heating furnace certain considerations like purpose, industry and location should be kept in mind. Before selecting furnace specifications like process temperature, height, width or tube outer diameter, length of the chamber or tube, and pressure range should also be given due importance. Choices for configuration for industrial furnaces include ashing, box or muffle, bottom loading, top loading, tube, bench or cabinet, belt, continuous or conveying, pusher, and walk-in or truck-in.
These properties are critical to the proper function of the parts. For heat treating normally three steps are followed. The part is first heated to a specified temperature up to 2400.25ºF. It is then held at that temperature for the required amount of time which may vary from few seconds to few days. Finally, the parts are cooled either in the furnace or by quenching methods, which quickly cool the parts.

Constituents of Industrial Furnace

Radiant Section
In the radiant section of the industrial furnace the tubes take delivery of almost all its temperature from flame through radiation.

Tubes are fixed either in a horizontal direction or in a vertical direction depending upon the configuration of the furnace. The tubes are arranged in compartments. There is a stud in the compartment which held the insulation joint and the wall of the furnace. The reddish brown tubes are called as carbon steel tubes, and it runs the radiant section height. The radiation will return back to the tubes.

Burner
The burner is positioned in the ground and fires the flame upwards. Burners tile is made from high temperature refractory materials. The mobile flaps of the air register manage the shape and model of the fire as the flames are not supposed to extend out too much. Air registers are of following types: Primary Air Registers, Secondary Air Registers and Tertiary Air Registers. Primary register supplies primary air. This primary air is introduced in the burner first, and then the secondary air is added to this primary air. The pre mixer of the burner combines the air and fuel intended for enhanced combustion.

Insulation
Insulation is the most important part of the industrial furnace. The heat loss is prevented by the insulation. The firebricks and ceramic fibers are used as insulation in the furnace. The furnace roof and wall are normally made up of ceramic fiber.

Pilot-Scale Industrial Furnace Facility

Features
  • The industrial furnace include over temperature protection

  • Furnaces may have either a single set point or a programmable controller to adjust temperature and temperature stability.

  • Industrial furnaces are built of several kinds of high temperature (refractory) materials to hold the process material and hold in the heat without breaking down.

  • The industrial furnace are available in various configuration and sizes.

  • Industrial furnace removes cured paint, epoxies, and plastics from metal parts and other materials.

  • It use temperature to remove moisture from object within oven / furnace.
Technical Specifications
Following are the technical specifications of the industrial furnace:
  • Every industrial furnace has its own Operable Process Temperature which is maximum temperature at which the unit may operate and still maintain rated performances.

  • The internal height dimension of the unit varies from furnace to furnace.

  • The internal width dimension of the unit, or for tube furnaces, the outer diameter of the tube are different for different types of industrial furnaces.

  • The length dimension of the unit, or on tube furnaces, the heated length of the furnace plays vital role in industrial furnace.

  • Every Industrial furnace has its own pressure range through which the unit can operate.
Applications of Industrial Furnaces
  • Metal Industries
  • Glass Industries
  • Chemical Plants
  • Chemical Industries
  • Steel Industries
  • Aluminum Industries
  • Petrochemical plants
