Heaters Safety Tips

Safety should be the main consideration when you get your heater installed. Following are some of the tips that will make the operation of your heater safe.
  • The heater you select should have a guard around the flame area or the heating element in order to protect children and clothing.

  • Children and pets should not be allowed to come in close proximity of space heaters. As heaters are hot, children should not be permitted to either adjust the controls or move the heater.

  • Select a heater which has been duly certified by a nationally recognized testing laboratory.

  • Buy a heater which is of the correct size and fits the area you want to heat. The heater which is of wrong size can produce more pollutants and will work less efficiently.

  • Heater requires proper ventilation so keep doors open to the rest of the house because this will aid in proper combustion.

  • Storing of paints, solvents or flammable liquids around a space heater can be dangerous hence it should be avoided.

  • Get your heater checked by an expert technician at least once a year.
