Gas Powered Furnace
Gas Powered or Gas Fired Furnace are meant for various heating applications. The heat is generated by gas in this type of furnace. The heat is transmitted through radiation from the hot walls of the furnace chamber. They are used in various industries like metal industry, glass industry etc for various purposes like heating, hardening, brazing etc. They are available in different configurations and sizes and are multiutilty device.

Configurations

Burners
High temperature gas fired furnaces use automatic proportioning burner systems to maintain constant gas/air mixture ratio over the full firing range. They also use industrial centrifugal blowers which helps in furnishing air at a constant pressure.

The doors which are refractory-lined are operated by hand or foot pedal, and are spring counter balanced to close properly with minimum effort.

Combustion and Temperature Control
Ignition is automatic by high intensity spark at start-up which is activated by the ultra-violet rays emitted by a spark or flame. The temperature control is automatic.

Firing Method
There are different burners that are staggered to maintain a constant flame velocity over the length of the chamber and to assure maximum uniformity of temperature for even heating.

Combustion Chamber Lining
For combustion chamber lining high alumina refractory is used because it provides longer service life than the first quality fire brick or soft insulation refractory used. It gives exceptional service life at high operating temperatures.

Insulation
The furnace is insulated with high temperature castable refractory materials. This assures faster heating and lower heat loss for greater furnace efficiency.
