Industrial Furnace Accessories

For the proper functioning of industrial furnace certain accessories are very essential. In fact it is difficult to operate such furnace without the use of accessories such as insulators, crucibles, equalizing blocks, furnace tube etc. These accessories are replaceable. The important accessories popularly used are

Insulators
The heating chamber of the furnace is lined with insulator usually made up of ceramics. The insulators trap the heat inside the chamber and thereby speeding up the melting process.

Crucibles
A crucible is a device in which metals are melted. It can withstand high temperatures. The crucibles are generally made up of graphite with clay as a binder. These crucibles are very durable and resist temperatures to over 1600 °C. In a furnace the crucibles are placed and after after the melting, the liquid metal is taken out of the furnace and poured into the mold.

Heat Equalizing Blocks
Heat equalizing blocks are used for stabilizing thermal mass or core. It helps in keeping the temperature uniform.

Element Protection Shields
Element protection shields are made up of solid or perforated sheet metal shields which protects furnace from flying debris, high-pressure liquids or gases within the chamber.

Furnace Tube
Furnace tubes are placed in a radiant section of the furnace in order to take the delivery of all its temperature from flame. The placement of the tube depends upon the configuration of the furnace. They are either placed horizontally or vertically. Tubes are arranged in compartments. The insulation joint and the wall of the furnace is held by the stud which is in the compartment.

Heating Elements
The furnace are used for annealing, preheating, brazing, hardening etc. The heat is generated both by fuel or electricity. The heating element used in furnace are electricity charged and are composed of heating elements like molybdenum disilicide heating elements, alumina fiber brick, etc. These elements operates at high temperature and are suitable for various industrial applications.
