Furnace Electric Induction FurnaceElectric Induction Furnace is a furnace where heat is
applied by induction heating of a conductive medium (usually a metal) in
a crucible around which water-cooled magnetic coils are wound.
The use of induction furnaces incur certain benefits. As compared to other furnaces the operation of these furnaces are clean, energy-efficient and well-controllable melting process. These types of furnaces are mostly used in the foundries. Most modern foundries use these type of furnaces for melting cast iron. The use of this type of electric furnace reduces the emission of dusts and other pollutants. Electric Induction furnaces are available in different capacities and are used for melting iron and steel, copper, aluminum, and precious metals. Configuration The electrical induction furnace consist of coiled metal structure in the middle of the refractory through which alternating current is passed thereby creating a magnetic field. The current is induced by the magnetic field on the metal surface and heat throughout the refractory. Features Following are the features of induction furnace:
The electric induction furnace are used in various industries like iron industry, aluminum industry, copper industry, etc. for various purposes like
