Condensing Boiler ArticlesCondensing Boiler : Conservation of Energy A condensing boiler is considered as one of the most effective boiler that is used extensively for heating purpose. It incorporates an extra heat exchanger to enable the hot gases to transfer their energy to pre-heat the water in the boiler system. There is a storage tank that provides hot water. The pipes in the boilers serve other purpose. For example one pipe carries the gas for the burner and other two are used for the central heating system. The condensed water vapor which is produced by burning the gas is carried by the plastic pipe. Domestic condensing boilers are gaining popularity because they save ample amount of energy. High efficiency is achieved by the boiler by using heat that would otherwise be wasted. This boiler increases the heat transferred to the water. A condensing boiler is a developed version of traditional domestic water-heating boiler. In Conventional boilers substantial amount of heat is lost with the products of combustion. This heat is virtually wasted. The Condensing Boiler consists of an extra heat exchanger. The hot exhaust gases, due to this give up much of their energy to pre-heat the water in the boiler system. Water vapor so produced in the combustion process condenses back into liquid form thereby releasing its latent heat. The fuel used in the domestic applications is natural gas which is normally methane. However boilers can also operate with LPG or oil. Condensing boilers are ideally suited for large areas and buildings having extensive heating systems or large heat load requirements. In case if there is difference between the boiler flow and return temperatures, then one can consider condensing boiler. Sometimes condensing boiler produces water vapor around the flue terminal Although not harmful it creates nuisance. Hence it is necessary that one should site the flue terminal properly so that the plume does not discharge over neighboring properties. Benefits
