Car Bottom Furnace
Car bottom furnaces are perfect for several heat
treatment operations of heavy and large parts. These furnaces are used
in a wide variety of thermal treatments including stress relieving,
annealing, heating for hot work, austenitizing, carburizing, hardening,
tempering and normalizing. In general, they are high vacuum and high
temperature batch furnaces consisted with electric resistance heating
elements both in the circular hot zone & the surface of the loading
car.
The heat is generated in the car bottom furnaces either by fuel or
electricity. Comprised with pneumatic car seals, electric car drives and
a vast assortment of devices like electric and pneumatic vertical doors,
fans, program controls and custom hearths, these furnaces avail ceramic
fiber modules for their construction. The car is driven in and out of
the furnace with the help of car mounted AC brake motor drive and power
is sustained through cable reel.

Buying Tips
Working temperature, internal width, weight should be kept in mind
before buying car bottom furnace. Heating elements, and the
insulation materials need a re look before you go for the furnace.
The cooling system and the temperature distribution is other
important area which should not be neglected.

- These furnaces are available in both gas fired and electricity
fired models.
- Made up of heavy plate steel and structural members.
- Comprised with high quality insulation system.
- The door seal is fabricated of ceramic fiber or some heat
resistant material which seals against a rigid ceramic fiber board
affixed to the case front.
- Equipped with outstanding radiating characteristics and thermal
resistance.
- Require less energy consumption and easy to maintain.
- Facility of precise and accurate temperature controller.
- The cost of maintenance is very less.
Applications
Car bottom furnaces are highly used in varied industrial
applications for heat treating metal parts. Other usages of them are:
- Thermal processing of large parts such as gears and forgings.
- Heat processing of heavy and large loads under air atmosphere
which contain welded fabrications, cast or forged assemblies.
- Exclusively used in several processes like aging, annealing,
austempering, hardening, normalizing, pretreating, solution
treating, stress relieving and tempering.
